ICCS juniors Olivia Stonecipher and Lisbeth Morales are recipients of the Herman Albert and Bernice Agnes Remmert Scholarship Award for the 2018-2019 academic year. Recipients of the $1700 award are rising junior or seniors with career plans in government, business, science, art or engineering, and are selected based on their GPA, essay, and school recommendation.
Lisbeth, who plans a career in engineering, has attended the Naval Academy STEM Program and Christian Brothers University's summer program for women engineers. She carries a 4.3 GPA while enrolled in every honors and AP course possible at ICCS. A devout Catholic, she is a member of the campus ministry team, regularly serves at Masses, and last summer attended the One Bread, One Cup conference at St. Meinrad. Lisbeth was one of two ICCS students selected by faculty to attend the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Program. She is also a Student Ambassador and participates in numerous service activities including the IC Cathedral parish's Room in the Inn and Haiti ministry, and Catholic Charities. She serves as vice president of ICCS's chapter of the National Honor Society and is member of the Beta Club, French Club, and Environmental Club.
A natural leader and outstanding student, Olivia has continually enrolled in the most rigorous AP and Honors courses at ICCS and currently holds a 4.3 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, founding member and president of the Spanish Club, and a Knowledge Bowl team member. As a Student Ambassador, she assists with Preview Days, Shadow Student visits, the Mardi Gras Dinner Auction, and other school events and projects. Her service work includes the Cathedral parish's Room in the Inn and being a peer tutor for ICCS students. Olivia is committed to growing in her Catholic faith and last summer attended the One Bread, One Cup conference. She serves on Saturday evenings and at weekly student Masses at IC Cathedral, where she is a longtime parishioner.
