ICCS to Honor Six at Sept. 23 Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon

Immaculate Conception Cathedral School will recognize six individuals at the Fifth Annual Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 23, in the Cathedral’s Marian Hall.

The 2016 Hall of Fame honorees are William G. “Billy” Griesbeck, former school board member; Suzanne Weed Martin, Class of 1978; Dorothy Fellows Weems, Class of 1962; Shante Knox Avant, Class of 1990; Regina Whitley, Class of 1974; and Dr. Dreda Collins Baker, Class of 1982.

The Awards Luncheon is held each year in conjunction with ICCS’s celebration of Mercy Day, an occasion set aside to honor the Sisters of Mercy — the order that in 1922 founded the school in the three-story building that today houses the school’s elementary classrooms.  It is also a time to recognize alumni and friends of the school who exemplify the Mercy spirit through their service to the faith, the community or the school.

All are invited to join the entire student body and faculty to celebrate Mass in the Cathedral at 9:30a.m, followed by a tour of the new Early Childhood Center.  The Awards Luncheon will begin at 11:30.  Tickets are $25.  For more information or to purchase luncheon tickets, click here or call (901) 435-5345.
